Breaking the cycle of
young adult homelessness

Job Training. Job Placement. Financial Empowerment.

Breaktime’s mission is to break the cycle of homelessness by equipping young adults with the job and financial security they need to establish housing security. By providing employment, wraparound services, and financial support, Breaktime works to ensure that every young person has the tools they need to achieve job, financial, and long-term housing security.

Job Training

Young adults engage in 3 weeks of work readiness training and financial education in Launchpad, the first part of our transitional employment program.

Job Placement

Young adults then gain 3 months of paid job placement, making $20/hour, with one of our workforce partners in the second part of our program: Liftoff.

Financial Empowerment

Finally, young adults maintain 3 years of continued wraparound and financial support via Breaktime’s Young Adult Services team in Stable Orbit.

Breaktime’s 3-part model supports young adults from job readiness through paid work and ongoing financial support. Each stage—Launchpad, Liftoff, and Stable Orbit—is designed to promote long-term stability and growth.

Breaktime's new hub at 63 Franklin Street

OUR HUB

Opening in phases between 2025 and 2027, the Breaktime Hub will be a centralized space in downtown Boston where young adults experiencing housing insecurity can access job training, basic necessities, and health services—all under one roof. The Hub reflects Breaktime’s holistic model for stability, dignity, and long-term impact.

The Hub will be the first centralized space of its kind in Boston, offering wraparound services to young adults facing housing insecurity. Designed by and for young people, it reflects Breaktime’s commitment to young people in Boston.
